As it became clear that Covid-19 would change everyone’s daily routine for the foreseeable future, PGK wanted to show our community that it was possible to continue to #CreateTheChange and do good even from the comfort of our own homes. With the help of our growing family of followers, we stepped into new territory with our first virtual Summer Service Series, and it was a great success!
For six consecutive Wednesday’s, we organized virtual service events in partnership with our incredible partners to help teach empathy and social responsibility to kids across the country.
I’m proud to report that during these oh-so-special weeks, over 200 participants from more than 12 states joined us to generate more than 1,500 points of impact – from toiletry kits for hygiene insecure youth, to cards of thanks for frontline workers during COVID, to homemade masks for homeless individuals in LA and much more.
We’d like to recognize and thank our partners who helped make this Summer Service Series so fantastic: Hope & Comfort, Food on Foot, the Crayon Collection, School on Wheels Massachusetts, the MSPCA, and the Jared Box Project! All of them do amazing work every day, and we are honored to call them partners in bringing meaningful service to youth.
As kids are getting back to school, we are looking forward to bringing our followers even more resources and events to make giving back in these uncertain times easy and accessible. As a small nonprofit, our community of participants and supporters make these impactful programs possible. We look forward to continuing to grow the PGK community and raising a generation of kids who value empathy and service.
