Rock Out! Mentorships are suitable for individuals or groups such as classes or youth groups. If you are interested in Rock Out! Mentorships for your class, please indicate this on the form and we will contact you immediately with more information.

HOW IT MAKES A DIFFERENCE

Participants in grades 9-12 will self-select the SDG or UDHR Goal they are most interested in, then explore how their innate talents or affinity for various multimedia forms (i.e. photography, art,
writing, film, drama, etc.) can help enrich their advocacy efforts. They are able to bring human right issues into light through their mode of art!

DESCRIPTION

Rock Out! Mentorships empower youth to create an advocacy campaign or project based on a human rights issue and/or sustainable development goal. Youth will be virtually presented with an overview of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the Sustainable Development Goals in order to explore the human connection of the SDGs.

Participants in grades 9-12 will self-select the SDG or UDHR Goal they are most interested in, then explore how their innate talents or affinity for various multimedia forms (i.e. photography, art, writing, film, drama, etc.) can help enrich their advocacy efforts.  Participants will learn how to generate questions about their issue of choice, conduct research about the issue and potential solutions, and produce a PSA which will incorporate a variety of artistic techniques to help amplify their message.
