Registration Open: The 7th Annual Winter Walk Boston

Our two mile walk is held in Boston, MA at Copley Square. The 2023 Winter Walk will be offering virtual and in-person options, hoping to continue to reach beyond the boundaries of Greater Boston as we did this past year to share our mission as far and wide as possible!

We welcome individuals, families, and groups.  

HOW IT MAKES A DIFFERENCE

The Winter Walk raises awareness and funds for ten Boston-based nonprofit organizations working to alleviate suffering and address the root causes of homelessness. We raised just under three-quarters of a million dollars from our 2021 Walk.  100% of event proceeds go directly to our partner organizations.

The Walk aims to continue this success in our sixth year and to continue to grow our partnerships and impact. We need your support and hope you will join us.

DESCRIPTION

A 2 mile walk through the streets of Boston during the coldest month of the year will begin and end on Copley Plaza. Participants, housed and unhoused, will walk and then share a meal together as we hear real stories from Boston’s homeless population. We have large groups of volunteers every year for our event! Volunteer roles include event set up, walker registration check in, route support, why I walk station, handing out breakfast and event tear down. 


ITEMS NEEDED

Warm clothes.


SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Anyone under 18 will need to be accompanied by an adult guardian or school/program chaperone who has been given permission to oversee youth.

Volunteer roles include set up and breakdown, greeting and info support, registration support, food and beverage support, walk route support, and photo area volunteers. We ask volunteers to be with us from 7am to 11:30am, though often volunteers are able to be done early, and we can accommodate needs for those who can’t arrive as early.
