WHOSE HELP IS REQUIRED
HOW IT MAKES A DIFFERENCE
A homeless child will have a day of joy. A homeless parent will be grateful for what they can give their child.
Homeless children living in shelters or transitional housing should have a special birthday party, too, but without a home or money for a party, many kids miss having a celebration. Habitot gives 12 children a year this opportunity through our relationships with local homeless shelters. You can help make it a special day by preparing party favor bags!
Children and their guests receive an exclusive visit in the museum, pizza, birthday cake, party favors for guests, a special birthday present and more. The parents are grateful, too, since they know they couldn't give their child a party otherwise. Volunteers, wrap ppresents, put together party favor bags, and depending on timing, may help set up parties.
All materials are supplied by the museum. (Volunteers do not need to provide anything except their time.)
Minimum age 15 without parent; children under 15 welcome with a parent or guardian.
