Summary: Precious Perks is a Workforce Development program for participants, ages 16-24, who are currently out of work. The role of our Precious Perks Volunteer is to support the Precious Perks Coffee & Gift Shop daily operations, providing excellent customer service by operating the Point of Sale (POS) system and assisting customers while they are visiting the store.

Responsibilities:

• Provide excellent customer service to volunteers, community members, staff, etc.
• Complete daily opening and closing duties of Precious Perks.
• Set up Precious Perks coffee station by turning on coffee machines and brewing new pots of coffee.
• Operate the POS system and cash handling to ensure receipt records match the cash drawer.
• Restock clothing racks and food and beverage coolers as inventory runs low.
• Maintain a clean Precious Perks area and tables.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Passion for A Precious Child’s mission and vision.
• Have a friendly and welcoming demeanor to volunteers, donors, clients, staff and community members.
• Must be 16 years or older.
• Be comfortable working the POS system, with training provided.
• Previous retail experience is not required, but a plus.

Training & Supervision:

• Complete Volunteer Orientation with Volunteer Team.
• Complete Volunteer Waiver Form.
• Training will be provided by the Chief Operating Officer.

Time Commitment:

• Must commit to two shifts per week.
• Shift times are Monday – Friday, 8:30AM – 1:00PM and/or 1:00PM – 5:00PM.
