***This is an entirely virtual event that requires a time commitment of 2 hours.
Orientations are held at multiple times during the week: Mondays, Wednesdays and occasional weekends. The full schedule can be found on our Project Giving Kids x HFA volunteer website.
WHOSE HELP IS REQUIRED
Volunteers will join a Zoom video call to receive instruction and support from a Hunger Free America team member. Parent(s)/guardian(s) should be nearby.
HOW IT MAKES A DIFFERENCE
Hunger Free America has created a national database of food resources. It strives to be the most comprehensive and up-to-date source of emergency food providers, including food pantries, soup kitchens and governmental agencies, like SNAP and WIC offices. This information has changed more rapidly during the pandemic. Your help makes sure that community members can rely on our information and won't go to pantry or soup kitchen when it's closed!
Join the COVID-19 Food Assistance Project!
As a response to the COVID-19 (novel Coronavirus) pandemic, Hunger Free America needs your help creating the most current database of food resources and assistance in this rapidly changing environment. The crowd-sourced information will be freely available to all who might need assistance during this time and will help the national USDA Hunger Hotline provide the most current information to all those who need assistance.
Volunteers will be calling food pantries and soup kitchens to verify and update existing data in our National Database. Volunteers will receive a brief orientation and training at the start of the session. Facilitators will be present on zoom throughout the event providing live support.
