You can hold a gift card drive or run a fundraising event of your own to gather funds to purchase gift cards for our campers to buy their camp supplies.
This activity should be a primary focus during the Spring, prior to the camp season, but can be done throughout the year too.
WHOSE HELP IS REQUIRED
A parent or adult may be needed to help make a plan of action to fundraise for this event. Besides just asking for gift cards, kids can organize any type of small fundraiser to collect funds to purchase the gift cards. Some ideas include a lemonade or bake sale, a read-a-thon, car wash, flower sale, jump rope challenge and more. Be creative and check out some ideas on-line or here.
HOW IT MAKES A DIFFERENCE
Once Wildflower has helped to make camp financially feasible, there are still more costs families will incur for supplies and clothing. By providing gift cards, campers can choose their own items (think bathing suit, hat, sleeping bag...) to bring with them to camp!
Help our campers get ready for summer adventures by donating Target or Walmart gift cards in $25 denominations to assist with the costs for camp supplies.
This is an individualized project and the items needed will vary.
The biggest decision needed for this project is to determine how to raise the funds to buy the gift cards. You can hold a gift card fundraiser and bypass collecting the cash or work in a variety of different ways to collect funds and in turn purchase the gift cards. Flexibility and creativity are the biggest assets of this project! Follow these steps:
- Commit to the cause
- Set a goal
- Decide how you'll raise the funds
- Create a time frame
- Get busy
- Count your collection
- Buy your gift cards
- Send them to Wildflower!
- Let us know you learned about this though PGK.
