HOW IT MAKES A DIFFERENCE

This activity supports Grades of Green's mission to inspire and empower kids and the broader school community to care for the environment.

DESCRIPTION

Finding Solutions to the Climate Crisis at Home

Join Grades of Green for an interactive overview of the Climate Crisis and Environmental Justice... take action to do something about it! We'll provide several actions you can take at home to help the Climate Crisis. Together, we'll prepare for you to execute one solution - sorting your waste. Participants will create a "sorting station" sign for their home kitchens out of repurposed items they find around the house. You will learn about "reducing" and sorting waste into trash, recycle, compost.

ITEMS NEEDED

Items needed:
Blank backside of a poster board or large piece of cardboard, old cereal boxes or other packaging with pictures, magazines/newspapers or old catalogs that can be cut up (if available), markers/crayons/colored pencils, scissors, glue. No need to buy anything - just use what you have around the house.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Education provided is geared towards middle and high school students, but ALL are welcome and it will be a fun activity!

NEXT STEPS

Gather items around your home and tune in on November 14th.
