We are able to do these in person throughout New England or on zoom.
WHEN
Throughout the yearWHOSE HELP IS REQUIRED
It is helpful to talk with a teacher or leader to best customize the experience but once we know what we will be presenting students/youth are able to interact with us independently.
HOW IT MAKES A DIFFERENCE
Ending homelessness starts with breaking down stigma. We want and need youth to understand homelessness and surrounding issues.
DESCRIPTION
During the year we work with schools and communities to break the stigma of homelessness through education and storytelling. The Winter Walk visits schools and holds assemblies where we show videos, bring guest speakers with lived experience, and create a space for youth to talk about homelessness and connected issues and root causes. Some schools have us talk with the whole school, while others choose a specific grade and then we come back yearly to talk with that grade as part of their curriculum.
