HOW IT MAKES A DIFFERENCE
People are hungry in our community. Even if employed, people earning minimum wage cannot afford both rent and food. People who are unhoused need not only a meal, but a place to feel welcomed. Hope’s Corner is addressing these needs every Saturday between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. by providing a nutritious breakfast and providing a bag lunch for each person to take. In addition, we began offering free showers on Saturday mornings in August 2015. Our numbers have grown from a few dozen in our beginning in 2011 to now serving over 200 people every Saturday. Besides food, we provide a place for people to feel welcomed and build community. We collaborate with Second Harvest Food Bank, Community Services Agency, Peninsula Food Runners, Silicon Valley Bicycle Exchange and others to help the people we serve connect with other available services.
Hope’s Corner serves a free breakfast and bag lunch every Saturday 8am-10am and free lunch and bag snacks every Wednesday 11:30am-12:30pm at the corner of Hope and Mercy Streets in Mountain View.
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Hope’s Corner. In response to COVID-19, our in-person volunteer positions are temporarily suspended to minimize exposure to the virus. However, there are still many ways you can support Hope’s Corner and our residents in need during this challenging time.
Organize a food and/or supply drive for benefit of Hope’s Corner (see the “Wish List”)
Decorate our ‘to-go’ bags with colorful designs and messages to spread cheer
Donate face coverings and/or travel size hand sanitizer that we can distribute to those in need
Donate money to fund our operating expenses (see the “Donate” tab)
Help us with grant writing, social media, fundraising or website maintenance
Follow us on Facebook and/or Instagram (hopescorner_mv) to get the latest updates and help us spread the word of what we are doing!
