HOW IT MAKES A DIFFERENCE

Clients feel welcomed and more comfortable when greeted and helped by someone who speaks their language or shares their culture.

DESCRIPTION

We are seeking BIPOC (black, indigenous, people of color) volunteers, as well as volunteers who speak Mandarin, Cantonese, Spanish, Portuguese, or Russian in an effort to have our volunteers better reflect the diversity of our client base.

Volunteers will greet clients, ideally in their native language. Then assist clients with their shopping in our pantry or answer questions as needed.

We will approve community service hour forms.

ITEMS NEEDED

A willingness to help connect people through language.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

All volunteers must be at least 13 years old. Some volunteers (depending on age and role) require a parent or guardian present. Masks are required for all inside shifts.
